Campanile Esplanade, Sather Tower, Berkeley, California
University of California Berkeley or simply, Bekeley is one of the world's leading institutions of education. While walking through the campus, I saw these London plane trees on the Campanile Esplanade. These were brought to Berkeley about a century ago, as young saplings, from San Francisco, where they’d been planted for the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition. To me the metaphor was how education can be thought of something that makes people look down from the ivory tower or it can be something that spreads its good across many lands. This brought it together.
