Bosphorus, Istanbul, Turkey
Istanbul is dotted with over 2000 mosques and chances are that you would spot a minaret wherever you look. It is also the only city that lies in two continents and has a sea runnning through the city. The entire historic area of Istanbul is a World Heritage Site. Grand Roman and Ottoman monuments stand majestically amidst modern structures. Every street corner boasts of some historic monument.
One of the must do things while you are in Istanbul is a cruise on the Bosphorous sea. I don't usually miss the opportunity to see a city from different points of view. Floating on river or cruising on a sea or channel next to it is one of the best.
Bridges are another great sight in cities. Every bridge makes the world smaller. This view, the serenity, the action of a boat cutting through waters and a bridge that spans between Asia and Europe is my lasting image from Turkey.
