Taj Mahal, Agra, India
My father used to show me a photo with me his arms, barely 2 and us standing in front of the Taj Mahal. I would pick out that photo as I was growing up and wished I could see it an at age I would remember. Through the years, the opinions were always mixed. It is the most beautiful monument ever to it has been allowed to decay and no one is taking care of it. As I stepped into the complex and cast my eyes for the first time, I knew there was no building, no place, more perfect than the Taj Mahal. Only at the Taj Mahal, is the word perfect not subjective. It is impossible to find a flaw in the building. The symmetry is mind boggling, the edges are straight, the curves are beautiful and the colors pop on the white marble. All this without a computer to draw or plan. This is the monument of love, but I love it for the sheer engineering marvel that it is. I contemplated the best image to capture my view of it, and to me nothing speaks more than the symmetry I saw in it.
