Melarcode, Chittalamchery, Kerala

Melarkode village is located about 30kms from Palakkad town and is my father's ancestral village. The village has no more than a 100 houses and is divided into three parts each with its own temple. An "Utsavam" or festival is celebrated every year during the month of May. It is a week long event and natives of this village, spread all over India make it a point to be home during this time of the year.

Chittilancherry is another village near Melarkode, and it here that our family deity resides. There is a beautiful temple, built in typical Kerala style, and home to the Goddess Chittilancherry Bhagavathi. The temple offers peace and quiet within the natural green surroundings of Kerala.
