Old Town, Gengenbach, Black Forest, Germany
Gengenbach is a town in the district of Ortenau, Baden-Württemberg, Germany and a popular tourist destination on the western edge of the Black Forest. Gengenbach was founded in the 13th century and became an Imperial Free City in 1360. Today the picturesque, traditional, medieval town centre ("Altstadt") is one of my favorite spots to visit in the Black Forest. I should say that this was a find by my wife on our travels.
I love windows. I love quaint. I was walking aorund Gengenbach when I saw this beautiful house. Perfectly German. Perfectly traditional. As I sat composing my shot, trying to find a good angle, chance happened. Sometimes there is a just a single moment that occurs purely by chance and you being there at that moment. This is my moment from that day. There was a loud horn on the street and this man poked his head out. I was there. I saw it. I captured it.
